CNC Programmer

Metal Saw Operator

We are seeking a skilled Saw Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various saws to produce high-quality components according to specifications. This role requires a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment all within a 4 day work week (10 hour days).

Responsibilities

- Operate and maintain saws and cutting machines, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine cutting specifications.
- Perform quality inspections on finished products using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and a tape measurer.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure production goals are met while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while working in the manufacturing environment.

Lathe Operator – Machinist

Responsibilities:

- Set up and operate CNC lathe machines, ensuring precise execution of machining tasks according to detailed blueprints and technical drawings.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify dimensions and ensure quality standards are met throughout the manufacturing process.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models.
- Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and tooling setups for various machining operations involving plastics injection molding components or metal parts.
- Conduct electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes when required for intricate or hard-to-machine features.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC machinery, troubleshoot issues promptly, and document machine performance logs.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to assist in machine setup or part assembly as needed.
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency on the shop floor.
- Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols related to machining operations, forklift operation, and handling of hazardous materials.
- Collaborate with team members on continuous improvement initiatives and participate in training sessions for new manufacturing techniques or equipment.

Experience:

- Proven experience operating CNC lathes within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming including G-code editing.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical drawings is essential.
- Hands-on experience with precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- Basic math skills necessary for calculating dimensions, feeds, speeds, and tolerances during machining processes.
- Mechanical aptitude with understanding of tooling setup, maintenance procedures, welding techniques, and assembly processes.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently when handling raw materials or finished parts.

Vertical Machining Center (VMC) Machinist

Responsible for operating VMC’s to produce precision parts and components according to specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of programming, blueprint reading and machining processes. The VMC Machinist will work closely with production staff to ensure high-quality output while adhering to safety standards and lean manufacturing principles. Pay: $24 to $28.91 per hour.
Duties:

- Vertical Machining Center experience required.
- Adjust machine controls and change tool settings to keep dimensions within specified tolerances.
- Compute unspecified dimensions and machine settings, using knowledge of metal properties and shop mathematics.
- Inspect sample workpieces to verify conformance with specifications, using instruments such as gauges, micrometers and dial indicators.
- Move controls to set cutting speeds and depths and feed rates, and to position tools in relation to workpieces.
- Move toolholders manually or by turning handwheels, or engage automatic feeding mechanisms to feed tools to and along workpieces.
- Position, secure, and align cutting tools in toolholders on machines, using hand tools, and verify their positions with measuring instruments.
- Replace worn tools, and sharpen dull cutting tools and dies using bench grinders or cutter-grinding machines.
- Select cutting tools and tooling instructions, according to written specifications or knowledge of metal properties and shop mathematics.
- Study blueprints, layouts or charts and job orders for information on specifications and tooling instructions, and to determine material requirements and operational sequences.
