NEW MANUFACTURING ALLIANCE 2021 ALL STARS MAGAZINE HIGHLIGHTS AWARD WINNERS

The Northeast Wisconsin (NEW) Manufacturing Alliance is pleased to announce 2021 All Stars Magazine release. The All Stars magazine provides career awareness with a twist. Alliance member companies nominate their employees for the All-Star and Mentor Awards. Award winners are spotlighted in the annual career magazine. The online version of the magazine also includes hyperlinks to three-minute videos highlighting each award winner.

Manufacturing offers prominent careers, and the NEW Manufacturing Alliance All Stars have been promoting that since the first issue of this publication in 2009. More than 250,000 magazines have reached the hands of students in Northeast Wisconsin high schools and technical colleges, as well as their instructors and manufacturing leaders. Over the last twelve years, over 150 manufacturing employees have been spotlighted in the publication. Eleven out of the past thirteen All Stars winners featured on the magazine cover are still working for the same company.

Featured on 2021 All Stars Magazine cover is Derrick Hayes, a welder at Fincantieri ACE Marine, Green Bay. “Derrick is a hard-working, determined individual that serves as an excellent role model for all,” stated Bill Boudreau, Production Manager, and nominator. “Since joining Ace Marine, Derrick has continued to improve his skills as an aluminum welder and mentor other new employees in the art/technique required for aluminum welding and shipbuilding.”

Don Follett, Operations at Heartland Label Printers, Little Chute, nominated Coating Machine Operator Melissa Hudson for the All-Star Award. “We believe Melissa is deserving of this award due to her attitude, drive to learn, and leadership,” stated Follett. “She has a hunger to learn how things work two levels deeper than the average operator.”

All-Star Award winner Tanner Peterik, a welder at Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry, said he would like to change manufacturing careers’ perception. “The stigma that you are stuck in one position for your life if you enter into a manufacturing field. The truth is, if you’re a team player and willing to learn and work on your craft, you will be presented with opportunities. What you do with that is up to you.”

“Manufacturing offers so many opportunities to people of all interests.” said award winner Melissa Christman, Manager of Continuous Improvement and Training at TIDI Products. “Whether you want to be more hands-on making products, operating machinery or maintaining equipment, or you are interested in other roles such as IT, HR or finance, there is plenty of room to create your career path.”
