- Study blueprints, layouts or charts and job orders for information on specifications and tooling instructions, and to determine material requirements and operational sequences.
- Set up, operate and monitor plasma cutting machines to produce high-quality cuts on various sheet metal and fabrication materials.
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints and technical drawings to ensure precise fabrication.
- Perform routine maintenance on plasma cutter to ensure precision machining.
- Conduct quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, precision measuring instruments and visual checks to verify dimensions and adherence to specifications.
- Operate cranes or forklifts safely to move raw materials or finished parts within the workspace.
- Read blueprints accurately for assembly instructions and ensure components are fabricated according to specifications.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly processes and support continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing workflows.
- Proficiency in operating plasma cutting machines with a strong understanding of CNC laser cutting and CNC programming techniques.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading and precision measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers.
- Experience with CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, press brake machines, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and other fabrication equipment.
- Mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing processes including tooling setup, machine calibration and troubleshooting.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations necessary for precise measurements and adjustments during fabrication.
- Familiarity with quality inspection procedures ensuring parts meet strict tolerances using precision measuring instruments.
- Capable of operating hand tools safely and efficiently within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with crane operation or forklift certification is a plus for material handling tasks.
- Strong attention to detail coupled with excellent problem-solving skills to identify issues early in the production process.

- Operates hand tools such as ratchets, wrenches, drills, screw guns, etc.
- Reads CAD drawings and can assemble using CAD software.
- Uses testing and measuring equipment such as calipers and angle finders to ensure correct dimensions of set ups.
- Sets up machines and determines if parts match specs, identifies and locates missing parts.
- Recognizes the proper alignment and tolerance of all parts. Ensures proper fit and function.
- Performs quality control checks as required to ensure proper fit and function.
- Tests/debugs, disassembles and reassembles completed machines, completing final machine check-off documentation.
- Participates and contributes to Massman’s lean manufacturing journey-6S.
- Assists in other areas and performs additional tasks as needed.
